FFBS shortlisted for three industry awards

Family Fund Business Services has been making a splash in 2022, having been shortlisted for three awards across our industry. FFBS has been shortlisted for Social Enterprise of the Year at the Social Enterprise Yorkshire and Humber Awards, the Enterprise Award at the Third Sector Awards and the Socially Responsible Business Award at the York Press Business Awards.

Social Enterprise of the Year – Social Enterprise Yorkshire and Humber

Social Enterprise Yorkshire and Humber is dedicated to representing local social enterprises to encourage the growth of the sector, through developing and nurturing a strong regional network of like-minded organisations.  The Social Enterprise of the Year award recognises organisations who have demonstrated a commitment to outstanding delivery and innovation within the sector. While operating nationwide, FFBS are proudly based in Yorkshire, and over the last year have strived to maintain a strong track record of collaboration and growth, with excellent customer satisfaction, a high quality of service and ever-growing client base.

This shortlisting is testament to the incredible hard work of our team over the last year, demonstrating a profound commitment to supporting our customers and to generating income for our parent charity. We are delighted that this impact has been recognised within the sector.

FFBS will celebrate the wealth of impactful social enterprises in the Yorkshire and Humber region at the awards ceremony in Halifax on the 22nd September.

Enterprise Award – Third Sector Awards

The Enterprise Award is awarded to an organisation that has significantly improved its income from commercial activities in recent years. The Third Sector Awards encourage voluntary organisations and social enterprises of all sizes to champion the significant impact they make to the most vulnerable sections of society.

This nomination highlights both the enterprising and commercial nature of our organisation, with last year seeing a significant increase in the number of orders processed, up 48% from the previous year. Consequently, this has resulted in a substantial increase in the number of households and organisations supported, generating record-breaking profits to be gifted in unrestricted funding for our parent charity Family Fund. We are proud to have been recognised for our enterprising approach and ability to adapt to a changing marketplace and customer demand.

We look forward to hearing more about the achievements of social enterprises nationally at the awards ceremony in London on the 30th September.

Socially Responsible Business Award – York Press Business Awards

The York Press Business Awards shine a light on some of our region’s most inspiring businesses, who generate new opportunities, create jobs and contribute significantly to our local economy. We’ve  been shortlisted for Socially Responsible Business of the Year, an award that praises ethical business practice and social value within our local business community. In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic and with the ever-worsening cost-of-living crisis ahead of us, the value of socially responsible businesses in tackling societal issues has never been more pressing.  We are proud that our unique and innovative social value model is being recognised within the sector, with this being at the core of our business.

FFBS look forward to celebrating the triumphs of local businesses at York Racecourse on November 24th at the awards ceremony.

Strength to strength

These nominations truly highlight the hard work and dedication of everyone within FFBS and the shared services teams who work collaboratively to deliver our unique social business model. This provides further proof of our enterprising skillset and impactful practices while delivering significant social value. We are delighted to have been shortlisted for awards across the sector, shining a light on different aspects of our business from delivering social benefit, to being a strong commercial business.
