Company update, Family Fund Business Services
Last night, Family Fund Business Services attended the 2022 York Press Business Awards, where we were nominated for the Socially Responsible Business Award.
The York Press Business Awards aim to shine a light on the most successful businesses in the region, who have contributed to the local economy, created new jobs, and generated new opportunities. It was a night to come together and celebrate the hard work of businesses and individuals over the last year. The Socially Responsible Business Award recognises businesses who engage in ethical and responsible business practices and demonstrate their understanding of the role of businesses in society. Although FFBS did not win, we were delighted to be nominated.

FFBS’ social value
2021-22 was FFBS’ most successful year ever. Our success meant we were able to continue providing unrestricted funding to our parent charity, Family Fund, gifting £2.8 million in the last year. This funding means that Family Fund can continue its vital work supporting families with disabled and seriously ill children.
FFBS works with other organisations to deliver support, including local authorities, housing associations and charities. In 2021-22, we delivered £76.8 million of items awarded by our customers to people in need, which helped over 700,000 households.
As we enter a period of economic uncertainty, our work is more important than ever. The cost of living crisis has highlighted the role that businesses can play in tackling societal issues. We are committed to continuing our vital work, supporting as many organisations as possible by delivering essential items and services to their beneficiaries, and continuing to provide unrestricted funding to Family Fund.

The FFBS family
This year, FFBS bought at a table at the awards ceremony, and every single member of the FFBS family had the opportunity to put themselves forward to attend, with names picked out of a hat. As each and every individual who works at FFBS has contributed to the success of the business, it was important that everyone had the chance to celebrate their success, as every role and team is vital to FFBS’ continued growth.
FFBS has a culture where everyone’s achievements are recognised and celebrated, from colleague awards to team values awards and more. The York Press Business Awards was an opportunity for the FFBS family to recognise the impact made by individuals, as well as the wider impact made by FFBS. We are all working towards our common purpose: to support the work of Family Fund, to further benefit the families of seriously ill and disabled children. We do this by embodying our four core values in everything do – supportive, connected, passionate, and determined.
A great time was had by everyone who attended the York Press Business Awards. FFBS are proud of the hard work and commitment of everyone in the FFBS family, and we hope that we have more opportunities celebrate together in the future.
Congratulations to all of the winners at last night’s awards.
