We are delighted that Family Fund Business Services has been named in the NatWest and Pioneer’s Post SE100 2024 as a Top 100 UK Social Enterprise for the second year running.
About the SE100
The NatWest and Pioneer’s Post SE100 Index recognises the top 100 social enterprises in the UK, celebrating businesses that are committed to making an impact socially and environmentally, and striving for purpose beyond profit.
The SE100 list is designed to recognise social enterprises not only making an impact, and finding solutions to the challenges facing society, but also showing a commitment to the environment, equality and diversity within their organisation. Being listed in the SE100 reflects FFBS’ position as leading social enterprise in the UK and recognises our commitment to delivering social value.
How were we chosen?
To enter the SE100, applicants were asked to complete a detailed SE100 Social Business Survey, carried out online between March and May 2024. The SE100 list was chosen based on rigorous criteria carefully designed to capture both business performance and impact – including financial performance, social impact, environmental impact and equality and diversity.
Delivering social value
Social value is built into our DNA. We were formed with the dual purpose of generating unrestricted funding for our parent charity, Family Fund, and sharing our fulfilment expertise across the grant-giving sector. We gift 100% of our profit to our parent charity, to support and sustain the vital work that the charity does to help families raising disabled and seriously ill children on a low income.
However, supporting our parent charity is just one way we’re delivering social value. In partnership with grant-giving organisations, we’ve delivered vital support to beneficiaries in a range of circumstances nationwide. In 2023/24 we supported households in need with almost 680,000 essential grants. This includes over 61,000 energy vouchers – enough to power the whole of New York City for an entire day, 110,000 food vouchers, 4000 clothing vouchers, 13,000 cookers and 28,000 beds. These essential items helped households most severely impacted by the ongoing cost of living crisis through another tough year of financial insecurity.
A job well done
We believe we’re among the best in the business, so it’s fantastic to be recognised for this by NatWest and the Pioneers Post. This recognition really belongs to our staff, whose hard work enables us to make a difference every day.
