How can we help?

The Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) replaced the Household Support Fund (HSF) on 1 April 2026.

The fund has been linked to a number of key focus areas:

  • Provision of food during school holidays for children in receipt of free school meals
  • Debt advice
  • Income maximisation
  • Budgeting and welfare support

 

This fund is not just about providing emergency help, it focuses on the provision of long-term support aimed at building resilience to reduce the need for crisis support in the future.

Cash-first support

With FFBS, you can get cash to individuals in whatever way works best for you.

You can choose: 

  • Cash-out services via PayPoint
  • BACS payments directly into their bank

We also have added fraud security measures in place, such as confirmation of payee.

Social value

We deliver social value: 100% of our taxable profit is gifted to our parent charity, Family Fund. This means when you partner with FFBS, you are supporting low-income families raising seriously ill and disabled children nationwide. 

Impact 

We’ve worked with councils across the country to deliver Household Support Funding to people who needed it. FFBS has partnered with Cambridgeshire County Council since 2021 to deliver food, energy and cash out vouchers to households experiencing immediate financial hardship, providing a lifeline for residents affected by the rising cost of living. The partnership has delivered support to over 30,000 households in Cambridgeshire.
